About Me

Hi, I'm Jarelle (also known as "Jae")! I'm a social worker with a passion and desire for working with others. My career mission is to provide individuals and families with opportunities to feel empowered, accepted, and worthy of a life where the goal is not just to survive, but also to thrive.

For most of my life, I have always had a desire to see others reach their goals and to make long-lasting changes in their lives. My first try at helping others was at the young age of 3 where I vividly remember assisting a friend of mine in reaching the highest of heights while swinging on our preschool playground's swing set. From them on, I continued to value the relationships I developed throughout my childhood and adolescence. Those relationships have helped me to grow as an individual and have helped those around me to grow into the people they are today.

The great value that I placed on developing relationships with people led me to Auburn University where I pursued an undergraduate degree in Psychology. While pursing a degree in Psychology, I decided to minor in Counseling which is where I discovered social work. The knowledge gained from studying Psychology and Counseling led me to pursue a Masters of Social Work degree. I began my academic journey into Social Work in August of 2020 and ended my academic journey in May 2022.

Throughout my educational journey, I have had the opportunity to utilize the skills I developed to work in a variety of jobs including as a Teaching Assistant with Kumon Auburn-Opelika, as an intern for Lee County Department of Human Resources, as a Peer Writing Consultant at the Miller Writing Center of Auburn University, and currently and as a Medical Case Manager at Regional Rehabilitation Hospital. All of these experiences are represented here in my ePortfolio. Check out the rest of my website to learn more!
